We understand that life is full of twists and turns, and sometimes the path to education is not a straight line. You are not alone: Nearly 500,000 Louisianans have earned college credit but have not yet finished their journeys. We are specifically focused on helping you find your best path back to a high-impact career. Our dedicated coaches are ready to support and empower you to return to college and finish what you started. That’s the power of Louisiana Reconnect.

Coaching to help you return and complete college

Louisiana Reconnect Coaches are here to support you to get back on track and work toward your educational goals. They specialize in working with students who stepped away from class but are ready to return to their previous college or another Louisiana institution.

Coaches recognize that students take breaks from school for a variety of reasons — reasons that may be planned, unplanned or outside of the student’s control. Regardless, Coaches are here to guide and support you in making the transition back to school. They offer one-on-one holistic support through text, email and phone conversations.

Louisiana Reconnect Coaches provide personalized guidance to help you:

Navigate next steps for re-enrollment
Connect with institutional departments and resources
Talk through the potential challenges or uncertainties of starting college again
Overcome obstacles and hurdles along the way
Identify clear and achievable re-enrollment goals
Establish strategic plans to reach those goals
Create actionable next steps to maintain "meauxmentum"

If you decide to move forward with re-enrollment, you’ll continue to work with your Louisiana Reconnect Coach as you navigate your first semester back. It’s an extra level of support to give you the boost you need to achieve your goals!

Meet your Louisiana Reconnect Coach

Sararesa Hudson

Sararesa Hudson began student success coaching in 2021. She is a proud graduate of North Carolina Central University, where she earned a B.A. in English. Sararesa was born in Salisbury, MD, and raised in Burgaw, NC, where she still enjoys country living.

Prior to joining the coaching team, Sararesa served as a Student Support Specialist for nearly a decade in her hometown. In that role, she advocated for students and promoted a growth mindset. Sararesa has coached students from diverse backgrounds and institutions, providing support as they navigate their academic journeys. She is committed to giving back to her community, building rapport with her students, and creating a nurturing space for them. During her time at NCCU, she was a member of the Women’s Track and Field Program and competed in the 2011 Junior Olympics in the 400m hurdles.

Outside of work, Sararesa is a youth basketball coach. Basketball is her first love. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and finding parks around the Atlanta Metro area. In her downtime, you may find her scrolling on TikTok or finishing her adult coloring book.
